Chicago resident Gabriela Cedillo, 26, a movie extra on the set of the “Transformers:
Dark of the Moon” movie, has agreed to a settlement with Paramount Pictures over a
September 2010 accident which left Cedillo with permanent brain injuries, seizures and
loss of vision in one eye.

Cedillo was driving a vehicle in the background of a scene when a stunt car broke from
a cable allegedly due to a poor welding job, and struck her in the head. Cedillo filed
the lawsuit after Paramount declined to cover her medical bills. An attorney for Cedillo
said “They led everyone to believe they were going to take care of her medical bills.
They didn’t and she was forced onto a public aid. While they make their billion of dollars
in gross revenue from the movie, taxpayers are paying medical bills for her.”

A Paramount Pictures spokesperson said that the company is “pleased that the Cedillo
family has agreed to move forward with the settlement. This was a tragic accident and
our thoughts and prayers remain with Gabriela.”
