I have this problem with AK suiteds early in tournaments. How inclined should I be to get all the chips in with it preflop? I mean early you often are 100 BBs deep. Is it rly stupid to get it in with AKs if possible preflop?

Edit: What about 3betting? Is 3betting advised with AKs at the early stages?

Thanks for the future answers,
Pi :)

I rarely 3b AK between 75-100bbs, when i do it's usually against a LP opener. 50-75bbs it depends on villain, under 50bb i just 3b/get it in. In general i dont 3b if im not willing to get it in. I also like to 3b w 150-200bbs w AKs since you can flat 4bets.

Allright so you shouldnt be inclined at all to get it in preflop with AK during the early stage of the tournaments. Thats something good to know!

Thanks for the reply,

It's a really complex question though. I think early in low stakes tournaments you can get it in profitably. All that really matters is position and villain. Maybe you should post some hands that you are unsure about to make this clear.

hmm, interesting, i mean against someone like 40/30 i get it in all day 100bb deep but in general i don't think low stakes players go crazy when it comes to 4 betting for example they defend vs light 3bets by flatting 3bets lightly way more often than starting to 4bet light.
