Hi,

is there anyone among you guys who managed to build a bankroll from freerolls?
I myself was never patient enough to do this, but I've heard fairy tales about poker pros starting off by winning freerolls and stuff.
Do you guys think that freerolls are a true option for a poker player?

hi,

the problem with freerolls is exactly what the problem with sngs is for me: you pretty much have to be the best and have to outlast everybody to get itm. i think cash games are much easier to beat. or maybe i'm too bad at MTT/SNGs, dunno

I have built a bankroll from freerolls, but a 300$ roll on NL25 doesn't last too long :D

I'd recommend Everest Pokers freeroll SnG's. They run all day, 5/3/2 cents for first 3 places. Unfortunately they are in LHE (no frickin clue why) but variance won't kill you unlike in 1000+ fields.

right, so there IS somebody who managed to turn profit out of freerolls:D but would you recommend freeroll sng's as the ultimate bankroll builders over like...SH cash games? im really curious

I don't think anyone would consider freerolls ultimate bankroll builders, I think that their efficiency is pretty questionable, but it is good to see that there are some people who make something out of them, so thumbs up for that, NitroHUN!

Its deffinetly possible, but it was way easier a few years ago. I remember 2 years ago fulltilt had region-specific freerolls and there were like 300 ppl registered on them each day. Now if I check it its like 5000 people are in. So deffinetly not the same. I think its possible tho and even if not you can still get the starting capital from certain sites which is a cool thing to do imo.

I have never tried to build a poker bankroll from freerolls. Actually I don't think it is that easy nowdays. I think it is much better if you start with a small bankroll on microlimits and stick to strict bankroll management rules.

dont waste your time on freerolls. if u got the knowledge and put the volume in u can build a br in micro cg.

so what about exclusive freerolls? which don't have like 1000+ fields? Are they still a waste of time and energy?

I usually prefer MTTs but I think cash games are better for that purpose. You can sit out any time when you win enough or lose too much, provided you are good at bankroll management, ofc :)

ok, cash game it is then, since that is my most profitable game so far, and its always good to stick to what you know:) thx
