Hey guys. Was wondering if there was anything to be done better in this hand.

Very first hand of the SNG, but I have history on the villain. Hes playing 24/8 over 94 hands filtered 9-6man.

t15/t30 Blinds - 9 players

Everyones stack is 1500.

Pre Flop: (t45) Hero is CO with :qd: :ac:
5 folds, Hero raises to t75, 1 fold, SB calls t60, 1 fold
Hes calling there with any sort of face cards 22-99 and loads of 1 facers I guess.

Flop: (t180) :9s: :qh: :9h: (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets t120, SB calls t120

Turn: (t420) :4h: (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets t300, SB calls t300

River: (t1020) :jd: (2 players)
SB bets t650, Hero requests TIME, Hero calls t650

He basically can continue until the turn with open enders, gutters, lower Queens and nines + some PPs i guess but the river lead is so strange.

Opinions?
Pi :)

We need about 39% to breakeven. River lead is really strange yeah, but the only thing we can do is to give him a range. What would he lead the river with? Probably he can have A9s in his range as the only realistic 9 but maybe sometimes he'll call T9s 89s type hands as well oop preflop. I put them into his range 20%... guessing game. He probably can have TJos, TJs, QJ, and any broadway XhXh. I can't really imagine anything else here.

Wins Ties Equity
56.25% 0.00% 56.25% ( AcQd )
43.75% 0.00% 43.75% ( TJo A9s QJo ThJh+ T9s(25) 89s(25) )

If he doesn't do it with TJo (or less then 50% of the time) then the call becomes bad.

Wins Ties Equity
39.13% 0.00% 39.13% ( AcQd )
60.87% 0.00% 60.87% ( TJo(50) A9s QJo ThJh+ T9s(25) 89s(25) )

Thanks for the reply. I'm wondering that how did you got that 39% as a breakeven number? You took the pot-odds and got it from there? Because if thats the case then I guess we need quite some more equity at the river to become breakeven.

I mean that you know... in SNGs the chips what you win doesn't worth as much as the chips what you invest. From that we can conclude that the pot-odds are pretty much f*cked up in general and that chip equity and money equity isn't the same.

Basically to get precise breakeven percents postflop we would have to calculate ICM postflop. Which is kindof pretty gosh darn hard.

Btw. I wonder what would you have done in the heat of the action?

Yeah I know we have more equity in sng-s because of ICM, but ICM isn't that (I mean THAT much) relevant when 9 handed. I might have folded this one though because this bet seems like he doesn't want you to check back:S

Yeah ure right about this one - the bubble factor is quite low while playing 9handed. (I guess around 1.2?) I wonder what would have you done if he would have just checked the river?

Since there are some weaker Qs he's calling with I'd bet then. Maybe it's bad tho
