As the title says, my question would be: What is your goal with poker?

My own ones:

Short-term:

* to generate at least 20,000 VIP Points at the site I play at (my main goal is 30,000 VIPs, but I wouldn't let it go under 20K)
* to minimize my mistakes at NL100

Mid-term:

* to do my best in cash games (I try to focus on one game type to be the best in that given one)
* to go to Vegas at the time of the next WSOP, and play cash games
* to reach NL400 in 4-6 months

Long-term:

* to reach NL1000 or even NL2000 and become a regular at these levels
* to become a highly profitable MTT player, and take part in the bigger tournaments (EPT or even WSOP)

I really think it can do you good to set up goals like these for yourself, because this is the only way to drive yourself towards your aims!

Short term:

-learning discipline and good mentality: playing when i should and quit when it comes to necessary.
-bankroll management in practice i.e. not to play HUCG with 1/6 part of your roll
-stopping jumping between limits and put the volume in
-playing my A game longer and longer and playing better B game
-playing when being in winner streak and quit when i struggle

Mid term:

-rebuilding my roll to 1k+ playing microstakes 6max
-learning HU because i felt in love with it

Long term:

-beat NL100 HU in this year
-beat NL100 6max to the end of this year

As you see guys my aims are mostly mental/psychological leaks to solve. i feel it will be a big challange to me...
I wish you good luck to reach your dreams!

Hey,
good topic, i'm afraid of i have easier aims with poker than you :)

In short term i wanna leave NL10 and move up to NL20 within a month. My mid-term goal is ongame NL30 by summer and by the end of the year i want to play at NL50. And IMHO this is enough for me :) i don't wanna reach higher level than NL50, maybe NL100 but there aren't any high stakes levels and vsop bracelets in my dreams. so i think poker will always be a hobby for me.

* Play at least 1k sng-s in March.
* Learn and play some HU cg.
* Try to do my best when playing.
* Win the SM yesterday :D

Mid term:

* Play the remaining 5.x K sng-s I have to (because I have an agreement with a coaching site).
* Try to beat NL100 HU later.
* Go for a live event this year.
* Don't give up my sng "career".
* Go to have a nice holiday abroad.

Long term

* Beat NL200 at least.

* Start playing bigger MTT-s when I won't have financial problems.
* Live a happy life!
